As an academic medical center we provide an environment that supports quality learning for the benefit of those who volunteer at our organization. The Human Resources Department processes those unpaid volunteers who are seeking to gain experience or to get credit for their own benefit, not those who traditionally volunteer in the hospital for the purpose of providing supportive services to patients. We define these as non-traditional volunteers and they are approved by the Human Resources department before their volunteer experience.
